Q: Why should I order a server from serveraday and not another company?
A: We are a privately owned company established in 1996 with a full staff of very experienced people who love the industry, and more importantly love giving great customer service. We own multiple data centers and have the experience to manage them to the highest levels of security and performance. We do not require any contracts, and you can cancel at at any time. What we do offer are crazy deals on quality dedicated servers backed by award winning customer service. Our business was built on positive word of mouth and we want to keep it that way. We’ll do (almost) whatever it takes to make you happy.
Q: Can you send me a picture of my dedicated server with my name on it?
A: That’s a really random question, but sure, we can take a digital picture of your server once its on the rack looking cool and email it to you.
Q: Do you require any contracts or terms with your dedicated servers?
A: No. We do not require our clients to sign a contract, however, all clients are required to agree to our Policies. Accounts are billed on a monthly basis. We do offer incentives on our dedicated server accounts for multiple year commitments.
Q: Since this is such a good deal, will the price of my server ever increase?
A: No! While the cost of electrical, HVAC and top of the line network components have increased, we will never raise the price of your server! We have never increased prices to our current clients over our 11 years in business.
Q: What if tomorrows deal is better than the server I order today?
A: While our deals change daily, so does our pricing and offerings. While you can play the waiting game, its best to order the deal you see today as we may not offer it again. If you did want a different deal and your original order has already been processed and your server has been built, you would need to cancel the server purchased and sign up for the new deal by placing a new order. If your order has not been fully processed, we can change your order for a one-time $20 processing fee.
Q: Does Server-A-Day ever offer $10 servers?
A: A $10 server would be pretty sweet, we actually tossed around the idea for a promotion and you just might see a ten or twenty dollar server in the future. Let me tell you though that any host would lose their shirts on this offer, so it could only be for a very special day, like when we complete the next phase of our new data center
With the rising costs of utilities, I don’t think we’ll see $10 servers too often anywhere. There are quite a few “behind the scenes” expenses that take place in a Data Center, often overlooked by some people. Let’s take a sneak peek at some of the items it takes to power an OLM rack.

So, if a server sells for $10/month and we sell 10 of them, it would take us 4 months just to pay for the rack listed above
As you can see, its not really possible to offer $10 servers except when Server-A-Day offers some crazy insane special in the near future…….
Q: Do you offer any other dedicated servers or services?
A: Yes!! We offer a wide array of Dedicated Servers, Virtual Private Servers, Ecommerce Web Hosting and Shared Web Hosting on our main site OLM.net. We have been helping customers grow their online business since 1996!
Q: How fast is your network connection?

Q: Do you guys monitor my server for me?
A: Currently we ping monitor dedicated servers only. These server packages are self-managed which gives you full control over the performance and functionality. If you wish to have your server advance monitored, there are a number of third-parties that offer such services. A simple search for server monitoring will provide you with some examples or contact us and we can help you.
Q: Who is responsible for server security updates?
A: You are! Serveraday/OLM makes every attempt to release a secure server with the latest updates to our customers. You are then responsible for all security updates and patches that are required. We ensure a secure, reliable, and blazing fast network.
Q: Do I get root access on my server?
A: Yes. You will have full root access to manage, monitor and install software on your dedicated server.
Q: How long does it take to get my server set up?
A: Servers are typically set up within 12-24 hours after phone verification and payment approval. Serveraday/OLM does require a faxed or mailed authorization form within 7 days after your order is processed. This is required for credit card security verification.
Q: What is your hardware replacement policy should something fail?
A: Serveraday/OLM uses top of the line hardware and components and will replace any failed component at no cost to the customer. Hardware repair/replacement will begin shortly after a support ticket is created regarding the problem. Hardware is defined as the Processor(s), RAM, hard disk(s), motherboard, NIC card, and other related hardware included under the server lease.
Customer Questions
Q: My server was hacked, now what happens?
A: In the event that your server is compromised, the Administrative staff will disable the server immediately to protect the network. You will then have the option to either reformat your existing hard drive to its original default state or have a new formatted drive installed. A $50 Administrative fee will apply for this service. As a courtesy, we will mount the old primary drive as a backup drive for 7 days so you can recover any data that may be present if you choose to have a new formatted drive installed.
Q: I need my dedicated server rebooted, what do I do?
A: If you have not chosen the remote reboot portal option, please go here and submit an emergency reboot ticket. Requests are generally handled in around 10 minutes.
Q: Where do I find documentation for my control panel software?
A: We offer extensive Web Hosting Technical Support manuals and documentation for each control panel that we offer.
Q: I really screwed up and need my server re-imaged, or I just want to start over
A: We can restore your server to its original state for a one-time $50.00 fee. The disk drive will be reformatted and the operating system and control panel reinstalled. Please keep in mind any data on the server will be lost.
