  1. Allan Says:

Do you have any active coupon? I dont see any offers in the Facebook Page or coupons..

  2. Blaine Says:

I see it’s setup with 2 harddrives in raid 1 and a backup drive. Is it possible to use these as three independent drives? or will they have to be configured this way? Or is RAID0 possible?

Basically, would it be possible to have more than 36GB of usable space? I’m looking to have at least 80GB of usable space, or at least 64GB.

  3. Michael S Says:

@Matt – I see my server I want is back, I was reading the ToS and have a few questions. Can you have someone contact me at the email I use for this reply?

    Thanks!

  4. Andy Huang Says:

@Matt – I vaguely recall an option where I can mail a USB stick back and forth for backup and loading large amount of data. Was that with you guys, or am I confused with a different provider? I have a spare 64GB USB stick right now, so I figured I can mail it over and use it as a backup solution…

  5. Michael S Says:

Thanks Matt! That server was nearly perfect for what I wanted, that’s within my budget range too. I’ll keep an eye out for it again.

  6. Matt-Serveraday Says:

@Michael – It will be back again, or you can email sales@olm.net and we can offer you a custom configuration based on your needs.

  7. Michael S Says:

Man, the server from yesterday looked like it would’ve been perfect, price range, specs, everything, but after the holiday I didn’t have time to do my simple research before signing up, now it’s gone! :(

  8. Steve Wagenheim Says:

LOL at that comments from 2008. Don’t you guys ever update? 3 year old comments don’t put much credibility in your services. Makes you look outdated

  9. Chuck Says:

Just like to say that I love my OLM server. These guys are great! Thanks for doing great work!

  10. Matt-Serveraday Says:

    Hi Andy,

    Just sent you an email…

    Matt

  11. Andy Huang Says:

    Matt;
I’m kinda busy so cannot talk on phone, else I’d call you guys directly. Can you please get a sales/billing to contact me via email? My server is dev.terrandin.net, with IP address: 65.18.170.92.

I need to find out information about:
    - Billing date (should be coming up soon)
    - Payment arrangement

I also have some question about getting some RAM upgrade on that box. Also, I need to change my registered email address because I’m currently not working with the company, so they’ve temporarily revoked my email address. I _think_ I can still receive mails from that, but not 100% sure. Please get in touch. Thanks!

    Thanks!

  12. Matt-Serveraday Says:

@Adam – Unfortunately, I don’t have any $19 servers available at this time. However, check out our VPS servers http://olm.net/vps/index.php. Seems this might be a good fit in your price range unless you were looking for a fully dedicated box.

  13. Adam Says:

Hey Matt! Don’t suppose you have any of the super low end $19 servers around that need to be loved? Looking to get one of the cheapies, with DA and 5 IPs for about $29/month. :)

  14. Matt-Serveraday Says:

    Hi Justin,

We do offer KVM with Virtual Media so you can install your own OS. We offer a 24 hour rental for $30.00, but we could extend this if you needed it a little longer.

  15. Justin Says:

Is there any way I can install my own OS on my dedicated server? Some other companies offer a way to connect in via IP KVM or something similar and allow you to personally install your OS. Would this be possible?

  16. Silknet Says:

The network on which my server has been has alwasys been up. I highly recommend serveraday. i have been with them for over almost three years now.

“Best Customer Service is no Customer Service”.

  17. Terry Says:

Put in a dummy domain name and follow the prompts, you’ll see what options are available and how much they cost. Nothing gets written in stone until you get to the end.

Or go to the OLM site, their app doesn’t require a domain name to see how the options are laid out.

  18. Don J Says:

How many additional ip’s are allowed to be ordered for each server? What is cost per ip address?
any restrictions to the number of domains?

Can we add extra is memory, to get up to 2gb or 4b., what is cost?.

And any prices you can provide, are those locked in too, just new to this but looks appealing so thanks for offering this way.

    Thanks

  19. David-Serveraday Says:

Oliver – Yes, you may certainly install virtualization software, such as Xen, on your server if you wish. This would allow you to host virtual servers.

  20. oliver Says:

    Hi,

Can you setup Virtual machines on the host?

  21. Matt-Serveraday Says:

@Brian – servers listing a backup drive have 2 hard drives installed and you can use one for storage

  22. Brian Says:

When the server specs say that there is a dedicated backup drive, does that mean the server has 2 drives in it? Or is the backup drive accessible through the network only?

  23. Jamie Says:

I’ve had 2 problems since I’ve been with them (2008 I think?), each of them was rectified within 1/2 hour or so.

The only real issues are, if you’re installing a kernel/firewall/etc.. there’s no way to get at the console, so if actual, physical access is super important, you should consider that. (though they do offer a rather expensive KVM solution)

Aside from that, they are 100% flawless! I run freebsd on mine, it’s great, fast, never needs a reboot.

There is only ONE reason I don’t recommend them… I want to hog all the deals for myself! :-)

  24. John Says:

Yes, but $19.95 server are only very old servers with celeron 2.4 and 40 or 80 gb hard disk.
Is perfect solution for little projects.

  25. Matt-Serveraday Says:

John – To be honest, $19.95 servers are generally saved for special occasions and not on the site often. If all we sold were $19.95 servers we wouldn’t be in business :) However, you will often see $29.95/month servers on our site!

  26. John Says:

    I’m waiting $19.95 offer.

  27. Matt-Serveraday Says:

Looking for something you don’t see? Let us know, we are always looking to make a deal on our inventory of servers!

  28. John Says:

    Some $19.95 servers?

  29. Matt-Serveraday Says:

  32. Matt-Serveraday Says:

A LOT of new servers have just been added to the Serveraday database! Get ready for some crazy new deals on single, dual and quad core servers! The next few weeks will have a lot of new surprises…

  33. Ted Says:

I have been with them for over a year and not once ever had to reboot server or any down time… It is being used as a shoutcast server running 9 streams. 24/7/365(366 leap year). Only thing I wish they had would be a client area with billing info invoices traffic meter and a few other things, but I deal with it and have my own traffic monitoring software on it to watch how much I am using..

Don’t just think about it, just do it as Nikey says… You will not go wrong here.

ServerADay is just a special daily server, all owned by OLM..

  34. Marc Says:

For those on the fence about ordering, I will also chime in with my recent OLM experience. I just received my server and added a firewall last night.

Less than 30 minutes later I received an e-mail from an OLM technician stating that their ping monitoring software detected the server was down, they rebooted the server, but it was still not responding (this was all due to my firewall blocking their software and not the server being down).

I was quite impressed with this monitoring and response. OLM followed up this morning with the IP addresses I needed to allow to ping the server in order to allow for OLM to continue this wonderful monitoring.

Have been extremely impressed with OLM thus far and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a dedicated server.

  35. Jody Says:

Well, wouldn’t that be 10 OLM servers? as far as I know there is no difference between buying the server at OLM or Serveraday besides the daily deals at Serveraday for OLM servers.. Have not yet bought either, but am tempted.. are currently hosting our company Website locally and paying $75/month. It does have a client login part of the website though and not sure how difficult that would be to transfer.

  36. Elliott Says:

I would also like to chime in here… I personally have 1 ServerADay server, but via my company we just placed an order for 5 additional servers bringing us to a total of 6 OLM servers and 4 ServerADay servers. We have had no problems throughout the time we have been using them and think this is a great service!

Keep up the good work Matt, Kim, and everyone else over there!

  37. Andy Huang Says:

    @Zac;
I just want to chime in for OLM / ServerADay too. I’ve been around since May or so of 2008, and my server is paid for until 2011 of same time. So far, I’ve experienced no down times, no double bills, and nothing but great support. The only time I had “problem” with them was not getting email about my upgrade (mentioned in an earlier reply)… and as it turned out, it was my spam filter being over aggressive and filtered their email as spam. You might also want to double check your spam folder for anything alike.

While I do agree that faxed forms are a bit annoying, but frankly, I think that it is safer than doing it over the web — even if it is done over https. It is worth while to note that they have no problem processing my credit card issued by Canadian bank, so if they had problem with your card, there is probably something else to it than what we are aware of.

    Just my 2cents.

  38. Marcelo Says:

    Zac,

OLM/Serveraday is a great company, I think you should give them a try.

I am a brazilian costumer since 07/14/2008 and can tell you the service is very good and network is amazing fast.

I tryed to purchase the last black friday’s deal but when I finished to fill the order form I receive the “You missed this deal” message.

If you will realy cancel your order I would ask Mark to give it to me, I know that I am in good hands with these guys.

    Marcelo

  39. Lone Says:

I have worked with Matt one on one a few times.. Hes a great guy and he wont hold back the icing on the cake :)

  40. Matt Says:

I just signed up for my server from here and it’s extremely fast and the price is incredible. If I were to get the same system and pipe from another provider it would easily be over $130 a month. I’m very impressed with your services and support, thank you!

  41. Mixd.Martial.Arts Says:

woohooo thanks, and matt great job on these deals you all are the bomb

  42. Matt-Serveraday Says:

While todays deal is great with FREE remote reboot or 100mbit port for only $29.95, I will also make sure all orders get either a 2.6GHz or 2.8GHz processor today!!! Lets make a deal….

  43. Kia Says:

Looking at the comments, I felt compelled to add my own, particularly considering how long I’ve been a customer of OLM’s — since 2002 (I actually didn’t know about this separate ‘serveraday.com’ website until recently, though — their main site is http://www.olm.net).

I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that I have NEVER had any major issues with OLM. My uptime has nearly been 100% for all of those years, and they have NEVER raised my rate (I still have a nice deal from back then for my needs, though who knows, I might upgrade in the near future).

For the very FEW times there has ever been a problem, these folks have a professional incident/problem ticket system and their tech folks will get back to you very quickly.

I’ve checked around over the years, and have never felt compelled to change web hosting companies. Not only are the deals (for what you get) not as good, but in my experience with people I know using different web hosting companies, they’ve always had at least a few more problems than I have and have had far less ‘responsive’ tech assistance.

For the record, nobody paid me to post this, nor even asked or requested me to — I don’t work for OLM, nor do I know any of them (for more than the very brief times there has been an issue, which hasn’t been in AGES).

But I wanted to add my own comment, after seeing other comments here, considering the very good service I’ve received over the years.

I agree with others — try them out — I’d be shocked if you regretted it. Seriously.

  44. Silknet Says:

I have been with OLM for almost an year. They provide what they promise. Support is not only available 24 hours a day seven days a week but technicians are friendly and supportive as well. Try them out, you won’t regret it.

  45. Bob K. Says:

I’d just like to say that I am a very satisified customer and continue to recommand OLM/serveraday to friends and acquintances. You guys are great! I don’t know how you can can provide such good service with such attractive pricing, but keep on doing it!

  46. Brian T Says:

Talk about service! This evening I was updating software on my server. It rebooted and hung up on me. It was rebooted and back online. I got an email stating the errors. AWSOME GREAT MONITORING. Well worth the money 100x.

  47. Zalfo Says:

Ordered it today. Should be a great swap from my HostGator hosting.

  48. Tanveer Says:

Server A Day really rocks. I am currently running two servers with OLM ServerADay for more than 2 years now. And believe me, THE DOWNTIME for their dedicated servers and networks are 0%. If anyone wants to run a site, go for the dedicated servers. You will feel the difference. Thanks Kim for all the support. And Merry Christmas to the ServerADay Team.

  49. Brian T Says:

Well just wanted to update you all. Its been 6 months since I have my server up. No problems at all, even with a cheap , cheap deal. Keep the good work up!!!

  50. PogMan- Says:

    Kim,

If you haven’t completed my server yet, you can make it a dual core! LOL! I’ll pay the setup fee if I have to. Hey, can’t blame a guy for trying right? You guys at OLM Rock, Everyone here looking for a server, seriously this is the PLACE TO BE!!! Take it from a customer that has been here for about 5 years now, not only are the servers a great deal, but the customer service and tech support continually exceed my expectations!!! Thanks again OLM/Serveraday, you guys really do ROCK!!!

    -PogMan

  51. Lone Says:

tsd-trader, They do not accept paypal, though if you get the paypal debit card you can use that. and as for the 20$ side deals.. those only happen once is a blue moon and are often sold within 20min of posting

ServerADay/OLM ROCKS! Im going on 10months now and 0zero complaints :)

Thanks Matt and Kim you guys rock!

  52. Randy Says:

Just wanted to drop a note – I picked up one of the dedicated server a day deals here a little shy of a year ago and have been quite pleased with the service. I have only had one outage, which was announced ahead of time, for a power backup unit replacement in the data center. These guys deliver on what they promise and have been solid so far. Keep up the great work!

  53. MrNfector Says:

I’ll add my plug to this as well. I’ve had a server with OLM for several months now, and I have yet to have any hardware or networking issues despite the fact that my server is an older model dual P3. It doesn’t look like OLM skimps on hardware costs, and from what I can see they tend to start with good hardware and it lasts. The one time I’ve called I was treated as the sysadmin of my server, and had my question (regarding the recent Debian SSH key vulnerability) answered promptly and completely to my satisfaction. The one manual reboot I’ve needed (my fault entirely) was also handled promptly even though I stated specifically that it was non-critical. I’ve been impressed enough so far that despite my initial doubts based on the price I got for my first server hosted with OLM I’ve been considering a hardware upgrade or possibly a new server, so if a sales rep would like to email me regarding that it may save me some trouble waiting for a deal that offers close to what I want.

tl;dr Good value for the systems on this site. I’ve had 0 problems so far, and the price is right.

  54. Andy Huang Says:

I’d like to third the notion that OLM / Serveraday is made of sheer win and awesome. I’ve been here for almost 2 months I’d say; and I’ve pre-paid for my server for 2 years already, because I know I’m not going anywhere!

Big thanks to everyone at OLM for running such a great service!

  55. Lone Says:

I have been with olm for 7months now.. have had 100% uptime and great customer service and tech support. Will be writing a review on my little blog sometime soon about olm’s services (nothing bad to say here ^_^) I hated my last provider which i was with for nearly 2years. when I have the need for it I will likely be getting another server with olm..

Trust me everyone.. you dont “Get what you pay for” with OLM “you get what you wish you could afford” meaning im getting alot better service and uptime then i feel im paying for.

Shout out to Matt and Kim at OLM thanks guys!

  56. ian Says:

My server’s doing great, too. So far so good!

I haven’t seen an interface that shows me how much bandwidth you think I’m using. I can measure the bandwidth on my machine, but I’d rather see the realtime data for what you’re using to bill me. Is that available to server owners?

  57. Matt-Serveraday Says:

Brian – Thanks for the plug, the check is in the mail.. joking, but we love hearing the positive feedback! Glad your happy with your server…

  58. Brian T Says:

I would like to tell any new customers about OLM (Serveraday). As these prices are really , super extremely low for a dedicated server. It is not a hoax. I am a customer with them and had my server up in 24 hours after I purchased it. No problems with it at all, no complaints at all. You WILL NOT find a better company out there. Keep up the good work guys!
