Do you install Server 2008 at all? I see you have Server 2003 on your order form, but no 2008.
January 17th, 2010 at 9:39 pm
Hello,
I have an account with you guys since 1997… Now, looking for an additional server and just saw this deal today:
WOW!!! ONLY $79.95 /MONTH!
While the server itself is a steal, were always ready to deal, so we are including a FREE cPanel or Ensim 100 license on all orders today! Just note in the comments sections which control panel you would like and its yours!
Dedicated Server Specs:
• Pentium 4 3.4GHz
• 1GB DDR667 RAM
• 160GB SATA II Hard Drive
• 2500 GB Bandwidth
Can you please let me know if it’s possible to upgrade another gig of RAM and also possibly upgrade harddrive (another 40 GB?)
If possible, please let me know the cost…
thx
Sutha

@Lone I was wondering how it made pass the filters, too.
@OLM/Serveraday Happy new year, and the new year offer is sure nice! Too bad I am not even pushing my current server enough to warrant another as of right now. Keep up the great service for us and I’ll eventually need more!
January 1st, 2010 at 3:48 am
Wow thats first spam i have seen on this site o.O
January 1st, 2010 at 1:39 am
Ordered one.
Thank you and Happy New Year!

December 30th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
I haven’t ordered a server yet, still waiting for new years; Will there be a crazy deal for a few lucky people Matt? :p
Great job on the support I’ve seen so far.
December 17th, 2009 at 11:23 am
I have been with them for over a year and not once ever had to reboot server or any down time… It is being used as a shoutcast server running 9 streams. 24/7/365(366 leap year). Only thing I wish they had would be a client area with billing info invoices traffic meter and a few other things, but I deal with it and have my own traffic monitoring software on it to watch how much I am using..
Don’t just think about it, just do it as Nikey says… You will not go wrong here.
ServerADay is just a special daily server, all owned by OLM..
December 15th, 2009 at 5:35 am
Hiya,
If I want to buy a server, but I want to install a 500GB or 750GB harddrive instead of the small 80GB one, how much would that cost?
-M
December 10th, 2009 at 11:46 am
For those on the fence about ordering, I will also chime in with my recent OLM experience. I just received my server and added a firewall last night.
Less than 30 minutes later I received an e-mail from an OLM technician stating that their ping monitoring software detected the server was down, they rebooted the server, but it was still not responding (this was all due to my firewall blocking their software and not the server being down).
I was quite impressed with this monitoring and response. OLM followed up this morning with the IP addresses I needed to allow to ping the server in order to allow for OLM to continue this wonderful monitoring.
Have been extremely impressed with OLM thus far and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a dedicated server.
December 10th, 2009 at 8:41 am
Well, wouldn’t that be 10 OLM servers? as far as I know there is no difference between buying the server at OLM or Serveraday besides the daily deals at Serveraday for OLM servers.. Have not yet bought either, but am tempted.. are currently hosting our company Website locally and paying $75/month. It does have a client login part of the website though and not sure how difficult that would be to transfer.
December 9th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
I would also like to chime in here… I personally have 1 ServerADay server, but via my company we just placed an order for 5 additional servers bringing us to a total of 6 OLM servers and 4 ServerADay servers. We have had no problems throughout the time we have been using them and think this is a great service!
Keep up the good work Matt, Kim, and everyone else over there!
December 4th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
@Zac;
I just want to chime in for OLM / ServerADay too. I’ve been around since May or so of 2008, and my server is paid for until 2011 of same time. So far, I’ve experienced no down times, no double bills, and nothing but great support. The only time I had “problem” with them was not getting email about my upgrade (mentioned in an earlier reply)… and as it turned out, it was my spam filter being over aggressive and filtered their email as spam. You might also want to double check your spam folder for anything alike.
While I do agree that faxed forms are a bit annoying, but frankly, I think that it is safer than doing it over the web — even if it is done over https. It is worth while to note that they have no problem processing my credit card issued by Canadian bank, so if they had problem with your card, there is probably something else to it than what we are aware of.
Just my 2cents.
December 4th, 2009 at 11:55 am
Thanks, Ordered
December 4th, 2009 at 11:23 am
Yes. Today’s server includes a 100mbit port..
December 4th, 2009 at 11:18 am
OK I can pay the setup fee and can you please add the 100mbit port too ?
December 4th, 2009 at 9:19 am
@Jack
We can not waive the setup fee, but I can add the remote reboot for free…
December 4th, 2009 at 8:53 am
Hi Guys,
Is today’s deal not hot? No one is taking the servers i.e.
Dedicated Server Specs:
• Pentium 4 3.0GHz
• 512MB DDR RAM
• 80GB IDE Hard Drive
• 2500 GB Bandwidth
Guys can you add the 100mBit port,remote reboot and setup options for free and I will take 1 of the servers.
Thanks
December 2nd, 2009 at 8:42 pm
@Clark, They do clean them up alot.. they like to leave the comments that Rave about the services as proof of happy clients.
Btw I Still have my server and still loving it
December 2nd, 2009 at 12:09 pm
Zac,
OLM/Serveraday is a great company, I think you should give them a try.
I am a brazilian costumer since 07/14/2008 and can tell you the service is very good and network is amazing fast.
I tryed to purchase the last black friday’s deal but when I finished to fill the order form I receive the “You missed this deal” message.
If you will realy cancel your order I would ask Mark to give it to me, I know that I am in good hands with these guys.
Marcelo
December 1st, 2009 at 6:01 pm
Just wanted to let you all know to be weary of this site. I think they may have some fishy stuff going on. I made an order on blackfriday for the 19.99 server, and I never heard anything back about it after sending them my authorization form. So I called today and they said my card was declined and could not tell me why said it did not give an error just declined. I have money in the bank actually spent 150 today on new glasses. I think they might be trying to run my card for more then the authorized amount, they also said if I wanted to give them a new card I can but I have to refax them the authorization form and wait 3-5 more business days, I cancelled my order with OLM, What kind of company cannot do a credit card payment over the phone or on the internet anyways? Something seems shady to me. I was not even contacted to be advised of my card declining, no phone call no email nothing, I had to call them. Im very dissatisfied.
December 1st, 2009 at 5:08 pm
@Marc
No IP’s are included besides the 1 Server IP. You can add additional justified IP’s for $1.00 per month each.
December 1st, 2009 at 5:01 pm
Does anyone happen to know how many IP addresses come with a ServerADay server? Thanks!
November 30th, 2009 at 7:26 pm

Hi, I just ordered a server, this seems to be a really good Idea, I did read through all the information I can find so I hope that I can use this machine as pleased by running a murmur server. I may use this for light web hosting but nothing major, mainly just a murmur server. Hope I can do this?
November 24th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
Only 3 days left till some crazy Black Friday specials… 5 people will get very lucky at midnight
We at OLM wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving…
November 12th, 2009 at 9:00 am
@Matt
I’m wondering if there is there any updates on my.olm panel? Still very excited to poke at that
November 7th, 2009 at 11:18 am
The uptime and customer service wasn’t very good when I first started, however, I’ve seen a tremendous turnaround in the last few months. I’m not sure what has changed, however, it’s comforting to speak to an actual technician vs. “please push #101324133142 for a human” phone mesg that you get with other companies
One item that’s a bit frustrating is the add-ons and nickel and dime’ing for them. For instance, going from 10mb > link to 100mb is an additional monthly charge incurred. Folks actually run 10mb cards now seriously? Same applies for backups, additional memory/ram, etc. I realize companies have to make money but wow ……
Matt, you have an email . Thanks!
October 26th, 2009 at 2:11 pm
@Steve
Yes. This would be for current customers looking for a one-time upgrade which could include a larger processor, more ram or 100mbit port. If anyone is interested, they can contact me directly at matt@olm.net and I can review your server for possible upgrades.
October 26th, 2009 at 2:01 pm
Matt, I think that would be a good addition. I’d even be interested in upgrading servers I’ve previously purchased through here for a one time fee, if possible.
October 24th, 2009 at 12:10 am
Matt,
Depends on the upgrades, but sure… but, 512MB of memory can be had for $50 one-time, so $75 should buy more than that. HDs are also available for a one-time cost. I’d say that if the $75 is intended to be a deal, it should include more than what we can get separately, of course. =)
October 22nd, 2009 at 10:21 am
Yes – I would prefer the faster port, but don’t want a recurring monthly cost. Memory you can already do with a up front cost as well, but if there were more options that would be better.
October 21st, 2009 at 7:19 am
Hi… looking for some feedback, is there any interest in hardware upgrades for say a one-time fee of $75.00? This could include CPU, memory, 100mbit port or other features.
October 13th, 2009 at 12:19 am
@Bob
I don’t know what you’re going on about, but if you get a dedicated server, you typically have ALL your ports open unless you add a firewall (hardware = $$$ but better; software = typically sans-$$$ but not as good in some departments) yourself.
October 11th, 2009 at 7:14 am
Web site addy is existing game server connection (P4-512-40gig) fios home
I’m interested BUT have a few questions.
I don’t need the free extra’s but I do need port control (the ability to configure ports)
Band width is more than needed.
There will be a “free release” of the old Mechwarrior 4 game / updated that requires a max of 24 connections on ports 2300 to 2400 udp & tcp along with 1 server connection port opened. The initial connection is through “mekmatch”. Yes, this is gaming BUT low very overhead & maintenance. Google it & mail me some info if your interested. If so, I’ll link your provision to the many interested communities. Thank you.
October 9th, 2009 at 6:35 am
@Chris
I think there is a new one around here somewhere…
@Mark
Yes. Serveraday is part of OLM, same hardware, staff and Data Centers.. Just some better deals on extra inventory.
The OLM servers do not include a control panel, for additional fees you can add cPanel, DirectAdmin or Parallels Pro on the order form.
Take todays deal for an example..The comparable P4 3.2GHz on OLM is $99.95 plus $25 for cPanel so today’s serveraday would save you $45/month.. Now that I did the math, I should probably raise it… but I won’t
October 9th, 2009 at 12:12 am
So, wait a minute here, do these Server deals include everything I might purchase from OLM?
You mention that this current “deal” will include a CPanel or Ensign license. However, OLM prices include a control panel. So the price here cannot really be directly compared, right?
How else is this deal different than just going to the OLM server page. Because I am seriously considering using this to update an even older OLM server.
October 8th, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Are you thinking of bringing back the hidden SU453J coupon codes?
October 1st, 2009 at 1:41 am
I have worked with Matt one on one a few times.. Hes a great guy and he wont hold back the icing on the cake
September 29th, 2009 at 11:35 am
Adam, everyone is welcome to contact me directly at matt@olm.net. Otherwise, our sales department can be reached at sales@olm.net.
September 29th, 2009 at 11:29 am
Matt, how do I contact you directly? Or do I have to contact the sales dept in general?
September 29th, 2009 at 10:40 am
Serveraday is ready to make some deals this week! If your looking for a specific configuration just let us know, we would be happy to offer some options!
Coming from another provider? Send us your dedicated server specification and competitors price, we will do our best to beat it!
September 27th, 2009 at 2:28 am
@Chris
As long as things are legal, and not violating the terms of service (see link at bottom of page), then you’re good to go.
@Matt
Welcome to the family
September 27th, 2009 at 1:29 am
@Chris and what mmorpg would that be? *kinda wants to play* but besides that most mmorpgs are not *legal* unless home brewed..
@Matt, yep ServerAday/OLM has a nice network and the servers are not too shabby I been a happy customer going on 2 years or so now
September 26th, 2009 at 8:25 pm
I just signed up for my server from here and it’s extremely fast and the price is incredible. If I were to get the same system and pipe from another provider it would easily be over $130 a month. I’m very impressed with your services and support, thank you!
September 24th, 2009 at 8:05 am
Hey guys, this might be a stupid question but what are your feelings on running a small (legal) private mmorpg server on one of your dedicated servers?
September 12th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
can i stream videos from these servers to a embedded divx player on my website, as long as they are legit home videos and not pron
September 12th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
Er… braindead typo moment… “So I’m
notactually very surprised at how frequent we see them!”September 12th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
Well, it is called ServreADay, you get a different deal each day. Every once in a blue moon, the $29/mn server comes around, and if you miss them, you must wait til they pop back up again. Assuming if you’re using it at all, at $29/mn, they’re really making near nothing (power bill alone is gonna set them back at least a good $15 to $20/mn, and then bandwidth etc.), so I’m not actually very surprised at how frequent we see them!
September 12th, 2009 at 7:19 am
Guess the $29 offer is gone…
September 10th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Hey Matt, shoot me an e-mail … I might be interested in something light on processor, heavy on bandwidth and HD space (trying to host tiles for a map service).
I’ve got a low-end machine from ServerADay already, OLN rocks!
September 10th, 2009 at 3:53 pm
woohooo thanks, and matt great job on these deals you all are the bomb
September 10th, 2009 at 10:05 am
While todays deal is great with FREE remote reboot or 100mbit port for only $29.95, I will also make sure all orders get either a 2.6GHz or 2.8GHz processor today!!! Lets make a deal….
September 10th, 2009 at 10:01 am
Andy – Not sure why that is happening, I will look into it. I just approved all your comments.
As for the MyOLM, we should be able to offer some beta accounts within a few weeks.
Very soon we will also be offering different monitoring solutions from basic monitoring with email alerts to pro-active service monitoring with 24/7 hands and eyes built into the portal.
Anyone looking for some side-deals?
September 10th, 2009 at 9:50 am
@Mixd
29/mn is as low as it’ll get. Hop on the one available today while its still here
Re: bandwidth, as long as video content is legal and not infringing other people’s copyrights — IE: you film it yourself — I don’t think they’ll have a problem with it.
September 8th, 2009 at 12:22 am
Hello any super cheap side deals today for the super cheapos like me, and also do oyu allow video streaming on your servers as long as it does not go over bandwidth each month??
thanks in advance, or should i check out VPS instead of dedicated hosting, what are you alls thoughts thanks.
September 2nd, 2009 at 1:30 pm
Nick, you ought to measure your bandwidth yourself. I do. Even though, I will be very happy to have the new MyOLM portal to use. I also think it’s rather disengenious to attack OLM in public when they are attempting to help you. It doesn’t win you friends.
September 1st, 2009 at 10:47 pm
@Nick, wow.. who gets a dedicated server with limited bandwidth usage (aka not unmetered) and doesn’t monitor their own bandwidth usage (even if the provider does) at lest somewhat? I monitor and chart my own bandwidth usage so I at least have an idea of what kind of bandwidth usage im using..
At lest use vnstat its super low resource usage (i have it running on another provider on a vps with 128mb ram) it will tell you daily/monthly/all-time upload and download transfer of all ports because it monitors the interface and not ports like most controlpanels do. If anyone needs assistance setting it up let me know.
August 31st, 2009 at 10:00 pm
@Nick;
Yes, not having a tracking tool at router level sucks a little, but seriously, if you went over that’s your own fault… installing something like vnstat on your own server takes no time, and you can always be on the ball with it… You can also install tools such as mod_bandwidth on your apache to help reduce bandwidth flow. Alternatively, use tc (should be built in to most linux distros) to do traffic control for all protocols…
@Matt;
That sounds extremely cool. Can you please hook me up with early preview access?
August 31st, 2009 at 1:24 pm
Nick,
I just responded to the email you sent me directly. As I mentioned, you did not go over your bandwidth. Information was not immediately available since we are converting to our new MyOLM portal which will be available to all customers in the coming weeks. The portal will have numerous tools available like checking bandwidth graphs and should be exactly what you are looking for. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Regards,
Matt
August 31st, 2009 at 12:17 pm
OLM is horrible.
I asked them to know how much bandwidth my server had used, since they don’t provide a way to find out on your own (even though practically EVERY OTHER PROVIDER does), and it took them about 3 days to tell me I had already went over on my bandwidth.
I would think either they would either preferably make a way for you to check on your own, or send you a warning, or AT LEAST respond to a request to find out how much you’ve used in a timely manner.
I’d recommend everyone to look for a more reputable provider.
August 31st, 2009 at 9:17 am
Hi Matt and other ServerADay/OLM staff,
Could someone from sales contact me – I am interested in getting a total of 5 servers (2 from OLM directly with customizations, and 3 from here). Would like to know what package we could create using the requested servers.
Thanks in advance,
Elliott

Looking at the comments, I felt compelled to add my own, particularly considering how long I’ve been a customer of OLM’s — since 2002 (I actually didn’t know about this separate ’serveraday.com’ website until recently, though — their main site is http://www.olm.net).
I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that I have NEVER had any major issues with OLM. My uptime has nearly been 100% for all of those years, and they have NEVER raised my rate (I still have a nice deal from back then for my needs, though who knows, I might upgrade in the near future).
For the very FEW times there has ever been a problem, these folks have a professional incident/problem ticket system and their tech folks will get back to you very quickly.
I’ve checked around over the years, and have never felt compelled to change web hosting companies. Not only are the deals (for what you get) not as good, but in my experience with people I know using different web hosting companies, they’ve always had at least a few more problems than I have and have had far less ‘responsive’ tech assistance.
For the record, nobody paid me to post this, nor even asked or requested me to — I don’t work for OLM, nor do I know any of them (for more than the very brief times there has been an issue, which hasn’t been in AGES).
But I wanted to add my own comment, after seeing other comments here, considering the very good service I’ve received over the years.
I agree with others — try them out — I’d be shocked if you regretted it. Seriously.
April 17th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
I have been with OLM for almost an year. They provide what they promise. Support is not only available 24 hours a day seven days a week but technicians are friendly and supportive as well. Try them out, you won’t regret it.
April 17th, 2009 at 11:12 am
I’d just like to say that I am a very satisified customer and continue to recommand OLM/serveraday to friends and acquintances. You guys are great! I don’t know how you can can provide such good service with such attractive pricing, but keep on doing it!
March 19th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Talk about service! This evening I was updating software on my server. It rebooted and hung up on me. It was rebooted and back online. I got an email stating the errors. AWSOME GREAT MONITORING. Well worth the money 100x.
January 1st, 2009 at 1:35 am
Ordered it today. Should be a great swap from my HostGator hosting.
December 22nd, 2008 at 4:32 pm
Server A Day really rocks. I am currently running two servers with OLM ServerADay for more than 2 years now. And believe me, THE DOWNTIME for their dedicated servers and networks are 0%. If anyone wants to run a site, go for the dedicated servers. You will feel the difference. Thanks Kim for all the support. And Merry Christmas to the ServerADay Team.
December 16th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
Well just wanted to update you all. Its been 6 months since I have my server up. No problems at all, even with a cheap , cheap deal. Keep the good work up!!!
November 25th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Kim,
If you haven’t completed my server yet, you can make it a dual core! LOL! I’ll pay the setup fee if I have to. Hey, can’t blame a guy for trying right? You guys at OLM Rock, Everyone here looking for a server, seriously this is the PLACE TO BE!!! Take it from a customer that has been here for about 5 years now, not only are the servers a great deal, but the customer service and tech support continually exceed my expectations!!! Thanks again OLM/Serveraday, you guys really do ROCK!!!

October 8th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
tsd-trader, They do not accept paypal, though if you get the paypal debit card you can use that. and as for the 20$ side deals.. those only happen once is a blue moon and are often sold within 20min of posting
ServerADay/OLM ROCKS! Im going on 10months now and 0zero complaints
Thanks Matt and Kim you guys rock!
October 6th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Just wanted to drop a note – I picked up one of the dedicated server a day deals here a little shy of a year ago and have been quite pleased with the service. I have only had one outage, which was announced ahead of time, for a power backup unit replacement in the data center. These guys deliver on what they promise and have been solid so far. Keep up the great work!
July 12th, 2008 at 11:22 am
I’ll add my plug to this as well. I’ve had a server with OLM for several months now, and I have yet to have any hardware or networking issues despite the fact that my server is an older model dual P3. It doesn’t look like OLM skimps on hardware costs, and from what I can see they tend to start with good hardware and it lasts. The one time I’ve called I was treated as the sysadmin of my server, and had my question (regarding the recent Debian SSH key vulnerability) answered promptly and completely to my satisfaction. The one manual reboot I’ve needed (my fault entirely) was also handled promptly even though I stated specifically that it was non-critical. I’ve been impressed enough so far that despite my initial doubts based on the price I got for my first server hosted with OLM I’ve been considering a hardware upgrade or possibly a new server, so if a sales rep would like to email me regarding that it may save me some trouble waiting for a deal that offers close to what I want.
tl;dr Good value for the systems on this site. I’ve had 0 problems so far, and the price is right.

I’d like to third the notion that OLM / Serveraday is made of sheer win and awesome. I’ve been here for almost 2 months I’d say; and I’ve pre-paid for my server for 2 years already, because I know I’m not going anywhere!
Big thanks to everyone at OLM for running such a great service!

I have been with olm for 7months now.. have had 100% uptime and great customer service and tech support. Will be writing a review on my little blog sometime soon about olm’s services (nothing bad to say here ^_^) I hated my last provider which i was with for nearly 2years. when I have the need for it I will likely be getting another server with olm..
Trust me everyone.. you dont “Get what you pay for” with OLM “you get what you wish you could afford” meaning im getting alot better service and uptime then i feel im paying for.
Shout out to Matt and Kim at OLM thanks guys!

My server’s doing great, too. So far so good!
I haven’t seen an interface that shows me how much bandwidth you think I’m using. I can measure the bandwidth on my machine, but I’d rather see the realtime data for what you’re using to bill me. Is that available to server owners?

Brian – Thanks for the plug, the check is in the mail.. joking, but we love hearing the positive feedback! Glad your happy with your server…

I would like to tell any new customers about OLM (Serveraday). As these prices are really , super extremely low for a dedicated server. It is not a hoax. I am a customer with them and had my server up in 24 hours after I purchased it. No problems with it at all, no complaints at all. You WILL NOT find a better company out there. Keep up the good work guys!
